Calling Artists!

The Ukiah Valley Friends of the Library Working Group is looking for an artist to design and install a mural on a wall of the main entrance to the Ukiah Branch Library. The site eligible for the mural is the wall to the left of the entrance of the Mendocino County Library, Ukiah Branch entrance at 105 North Main Street with a $5000 budget. We would love to see what your ideas are:

To the Ukiah Valley Friends of the Library

​We are a non-profit, charitable organization that raises funds for the direct benefit of Library Programming and Services including:

  • Children’s programs: The 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Program; Lego Hour; Baby, Family and Bilingual Preschool Story Times; A Child, A Dog and A Good Book; Farmers’ Market Story Time.

  • Teen Programs: Library Teen Leadership Council; Drop-in Reading, Art, and Writing (RAWR); Gaming, Anime and Manga Interest Groups and weekly Crafternoons.

  • Family Programs: Free family movies; Story Times and Special Events (see monthly calendar)

  • Adult Programs: The Yokayo Seed Project provides educational seminars and a growing collection of local heirloom seeds; knitting groups; monthly book club; guest speakers; art exhibits; tech help

  • Book Mobile Outreach to remote areas of the county; nursing homes and the county jail

  • Refreshments for monthly Book Sales and live music on First Fridays
